Tulum Day.

Tulum Day Trip Info & Group Vote

Hey everyone!

We’re working on arranging a group day trip to Tulum while we’re in Cancun, and we’d love your input!

Below, you’ll find a section with helpful trip ideas, good-to-know tips, and a few pointers to help you decide if you’d like to join. We’ve also included a quick voting section so you can let us know your preference.

Important to know:

  • This trip is totally optional—some folks may choose to relax at the resort instead.

  • We’re hoping to pre-arrange a private car or shuttle for those interested, so we can avoid last-minute hassle, price-gouging, and just enjoy a smooth, stress-free experience.

  • Traveling as a group makes the ride more fun—but if you’d prefer to customize your own return trip, that’s completely okay too.

Also, keep in mind:
It’s peak season, which means many of the most popular spots in Tulum book up quickly. Based on feedback, research, and early planning, we’ve outlined a few things to consider when it comes to booking in advance—so you're not caught off guard and can secure a spot at the top locations with great service and ease.

So check out the info, cast your vote, and let us know if you're in!

🌿 Seaweed Disclaimer: Make Informed Decisions- but still worth the trip - mentions :)

Heads-up on Seaweed Season:
Tulum’s eastern coastline, especially popular spots like Playa Paraíso and the Hotel Zone, can experience heavy seaweed buildup during the summer—particularly in July, which falls in the peak of the sargassum season (May–September).

If you're planning beach time, consider this:

  • Affected Areas: Eastern-facing beaches tend to collect the most seaweed due to ocean currents.

  • Smell & Insects: Rotting seaweed can emit strong odors and attract mosquitoes, making beach days less pleasant.

  • Smarter Alternatives: Opt for day clubs with pools or explore cenotes, Mayan ruins, or inland adventures when seaweed is heavy.

  • Better Beach Conditions: Islands like Cozumel or areas west and more sheltered from ocean currents usually have clearer waters. Or a schedule a better location to enjoy the turquoise waters.

Logistics

Transportation

*Time & Date will be adjusted after the vote- I just wanted a firm answer on cost.

A private van for us with pickup at Vidanta and return from Tulum, currently scheduled from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. The total cost is $478 for up to 9 people, which is about $53 (Round-Trip) per person. Having a dedicated driver means:

  • No negotiating fares

  • No waiting for return rides

  • No price gouging or stress

We can adjust the timing based on what the group prefers. Keep in mind that you can also ride up and come back at a different time and secure your own transportation back. ** However, during peak season, prices are HIGH - try to book early.

~Day Club Info~

Tulum is stunning, but it’s also heavily busy during peak seasons—especially in July. Here's what we've learned from friends and online feedback:

  • Day Tulum transitions to Night Tulum: A LOT of WALKING- Wear Comfortable Shoes!

  • Busy Beaches: To avoid crowds and chaos, the best option is booking through a hotel or beach club, where you can rent a daybed or cabana.

  • Most popular spots require reservations or a minimum spend to enter.

  • Without one, you may be standing in line in the heat or paying inflated prices just to get in.
